Think about using the Help menu. It's at the right end of all the menus, and from it you can search through an index of all the on-disk help you can also press F1 to access it.
Don't forget the 'Help button', Looks like a question mark with a pointer
Also available under Help and you can stick it in with your menu icons using 'Customise | Commands' and dragging it over. Click on this and your cursor
changes to a hand holding a small explanation text. Then you can move that hand around the screen and place it above any part of the FrontPage
display. Click and you'll see a relevant help window open, explaining the thing beneath your question mark. Keyboard shortcut is Shift + F1.

4 Guest Article - "Font management"
------------------------------------
A quick introduction to font management and fonts on the web
Fonts. Also known as typefaces. Small, often overlooked files that with the
right use can add spice and / or character to your website. There are some
tricks however that one may need to know to work with fonts.
First, let me talk about font collecting and management. Before you can use
fonts on your website, you need to collect and manage them. PC fonts are
usually placed in the folder called C:\WINDOWS\FONTS. This is where Windows
need to have fonts if you want to use them in various programs. However, if
you have many fonts it is not a good idea to put everyone in this folder.
Your whole system will slow down if you have too many fonts installed. To
make it confusing, it is not the number of fonts that determine when your
system starts to slow down, but it's the combined size. Usually you'll do
well with 2-300 fonts installed, some people say 500 and some people report
no problems with 1000 fonts installed. It all depends on your systems
powers, really. If you don't have a superfast PC, maybe a good idea is to
keep less than 300 fonts installed.
If your font collection grows, you can put fonts in any folder on your
computer. If you need to use a font for a special project, the font will be
available in most programs if you simply open the TTF file by clicking on
it. Minimize it to the taskbar so that it doesn't take up space on your screen,
and off you go with Photoshop or PhotoImpact. The font will now be available
in the font dropdown menu. Obviously, if you close the TTF file the font
will no longer be available for programs, but if you only need a certain
graphic there and then, this technique works. Just remember to open the font
each time you need to work with it.
It can be hard to keep track of hundreds or thousands of fonts, even if you
have them neatly alphabetized in folders. This is where font management
programs come in. Popular managers include:
The Font Thing
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/
Printer's Apprentice
http://www.loseyourmind.com/
Font Lister
http://www.theill.com
Font managers will let you view uninstalled fonts, move them around, install and uninstall fonts, compare and sample. These programs are also great for making hardcopy books of your font collection. It will usually be faster to browse through a printed catalogue of fonts than to fire up your font manager each time you need a special font.
How to get fonts: Well, they are almost everywhere on the net. You can do a
search for free fonts, and you'll likely find more font websites than you
can shake a stick at. Add to that mailing lists for font exchange and
collections that come bundled with many graphics and design applications and
you'll be set for life. Well, fontaholics can never get enough. There are
supposed to be 500 000 different fonts in circulation and a collection is
considered big if you have 50 000.
You can also make your own fonts. Basic font design is easier than you
think - after all a font is only a black and white drawing. If you can draw,
you can make fonts. Newbies may want to start with a simple program like The
Font Creator http://www.high-logic.com/
, then maybe move to the more
sophisticated and professional Fontographer by Macromedia
http://www.macromedia.com
Coreldraw http://www.corel.com
can
also export drawings as TTF files.
Using fonts on websites: There is one major problem with using fancy fonts
on websites. If you specify a cool font in FrontPage, it will look great on your
computer because you have this font installed. But website visitors without this font installed will not display your selected font, and there is no way of telling exactly how
your pages will display. Darn! So how do you include a fancy font on a
webpage? Make a graphic of it. Logo graphics, menus and other navigational
elements with words can be GIF files that take up very little space and
download time if you compress them enough. If you need a header with a fancy
font, usually you can compress it to 64 or 32 colours and it will still look
good. The background behind the actual word can also be transparent so your
page background is visible through the words.
There are of course other ways to display fonts on a website. But these
methods are not 100% sure. Microsoft's product Weft
http://www.microsoft.com/OpenType/web/embedding/
is a font embedding
program that will download things to the user's web browser so that the font
you specify will display. Then you have Bitstream's Webfont Maker
http://www.bitstream.com
which record font shapes and "play them back" in the user's browser. But this method also requires software to be downloaded to the user, and these tricks ay not be accepted by the user. So the only safe and currently accepted
method of showing fancy fonts is to make them into images.
One last thing about fonts: Some fonts are called dingbats. They are in effect small drawings of almost anything presented as a font. You can find dingbats with flowers, faces, symbols, feet, animals, signs and music notation. Using these fonts will save you a ot of drawing in Illustrator or Coreldraw. Most font packages and font websites have plenty of dingbats to choose from.

New Features of the Office HTML Filter 2.0 (NEW URL LINK)
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Msohtmf2.aspx
You have more control over which types of mark-up tags are removed.
You can export a cascading style sheet (.css) file based on a Word 2000 document or an Office HTML file. You can copy any fragment of a Word document as HTML and paste it into an HTML or text editor as filtered HTML mark-up. For example, instead of typing complex HTML tags to create nested tables, create them by using the Draw Table tool in Word. Then select them and click Copy as HTML on the Edit menu to create a compact HTML copy of the tables. The Office HTML Filter 2.0 is even more efficient at removing redundant HTML mark-up from an Office HTML file.
